Summer may be over, but that Texas sun is still brighter than ever. Protecting your eyes is vital and luckily, Dallas’ own Chloe Beaugard has what you need to protect your peepers in style. Beaugard is the founder of Shady Baby Co., a company providing luxury eyewear at an affordable price. She founded the company in October of 2017 when she needed to raise money to participate in a mission trip.“I wasn’t too great at fundraising,” Beaugard says, “So I just thought ‘Okay, what are people always asking me about?’ I really like eyewear, and people were always like ‘Where’d you get your glasses?’ That’s what gave me that idea of ‘Oh, I can sell glasses to make money!’”Beaugard then decided to create eyewear fit for social gatherings, lounging in the sun or for an Instagram photo-op. Although she ran into some challenges in the early stages of launching her business, Beaugard’s dedication has proven fruitful.“I like to think of my business as a plant,” Beaugard says. “When you start to grow a plant, it just starts as a seed and you have to plant it and water it. From there, it starts to grow a leaf, but you don’t actually see the fruit, or the vegetable or the flower until months later. You won’t instantly see results, but just know that with the effort that you’re putting into it, you’re nurturing it and you’re growing it into the pretty flower.”While Beaugard works full time in addition to running a business of her own, she is able to maintain a balance within her life. When she has free time, she enjoys socializing with friends over homemade cocktails.“One of my favorite vodka drinks is a lemon martini,” Beaugard says. “Kruto Vodka definitely has a smooth taste, which complements the sweetness of my lemon martini that I love so much.”To shop Beaugard’s looks, visit shadybabyco.com and follow @shadybabyco on Instagram.
