Addison, TX is jam-packed with great restaurants and bars, one of the most notable being Nate’s Seafood and Steak House. Behind the bar, guests of Nate’s will find Amanda, a talented bartender with eight years experience.Amanda got into the bartending game while in school in Detroit, MI.“I was looking to kind of do something different,” Amanda says. “I applied at a bar and I started waitressing for about three months. Then I got promoted to bartender and I never waited tables again after that.”As a bartender, Amanda’s favorite part of the job is interacting with her coworkers and her regulars.“I love meeting people from all different walks of life,” Amanda says. “You gain a little bit of knowledge from everyone you meet along the way. I joke around with my coworkers and say that we are babysitters, therapists and friends.”In many ways, bartending is like riding a bike, and Amanda says that her bartending skills will stay with her for a lifetime.“You can take it anywhere,” Amanda says. “I moved to Texas with no expectations of where I was going to be working. Then I found, Nate’s, lo and behold. For me, personality-wise, it was a perfect fit.”While skilled in crafting various cocktails, Amanda enjoys using Kruto vodka in her beverages.“Kruto is extremely smooth compared to all other vodkas I serve on a regular basis,” Amanda “I think the whole process of how its made is very unique, as far as the ingredients they use and how many times it’s distilled.”Catch Amanda at Nate’s Seafood and Steakhouse in Addison!
