Hollywood to Bollywood
The 8th Annual Silk Threads Charity Gala was on October 14, 2017 and benefited the Asia Center at University of Dallas. This large event was hosted by our favorite Dallas Housewife LeeAnne Locken and featured everyone dressed to the nines.
The show was divided into multiple different segments showing the progression of Indian fashion from the 70s to modern day. It was so interesting to see Hollywood’s influence on the Bollywood style. The event also featured beautiful music from Indo-Caribbean singer Terry Gajraj, and Outspoken Visions Entertainment and DJ Raj from Stereo Nation LA.
The gala raised the most funds out of any event they have ever hosted, with proceeds being used to setup a scholarship at UTD.
The specialty cocktails for the evening were a play on Hollywood and Bollywood. Our Hollywood cocktail was a light fresh cucumber and herb cocktail, while our Bollywood cocktail was a bold mango and lemon cocktail. Check out the recipes to the cocktails below!
